Individual Counselling

Because everyone's got dirty laundry.

Our Motto

At Dirty Laundry Therapy, we believe healing starts when we stop pretending everything’s folded neatly. Life’s messy! Especially when you’re juggling trauma, identity, relationships, or just trying to survive in a world that doesn’t seem to make sense.

Our individual counselling is rooted in Internal Family Systems (IFS): a compassionate, evidence-based model that helps you explore the different parts of yourself without shame. Regardless of what you’re going through, this is a space where all your parts are welcome.

We work especially with folks who are:

  • Queer, trans, and questioning
  • Polyamorous, kinky, or navigating non-traditional relationships
  • Experiencing conflict in family, romantic, or peer relationships
  • Going through major life transitions or feeling stuck in-between phases
  • Struggling with stress, feeling overwhelmed, or burnout – Carrying trauma, shame, or survival strategies that feel stuck
  • Tired of feeling like they have to “perform” in therapy

What sessions look like

The foundation of our work together is based on an anti-oppressive lens. As a Queer clinic, you will never have to answer “why?”. Instead, we focus on “what?” and “how?”

You won’t be judged for your relationships, your kinks, your anger, your apathy, or your coping mechanisms.

Growth comes from learning to listen to your parts and creating a balanced relationship between you and them.

You can expect to be asked what you want to center the session on and at the end of the session, what your takeaway is.

You might find it helpful to take notes to give you an idea of what you might want to bring up in the next session and to keep track of your developments.

You will be invited to slow down, get curious, and start relating to your inner system, not just managing symptoms.

You will know that you’re ready to end therapy when you can take all your parts into consideration without feeling overwhelmed by them.

Success at Dirty Laundry Therapy looks like awareness, understanding, and compassion towards the parts of us that are hurt, confused, and tired.

Pricing

Am I eligible for sliding scale pricing?

To ask about a sliding scale spot with Céleste, make sure to mention it in your first email when inquiring about a consultation. This will speed up the process of determining if the sliding scale fee is accessible to you. Céleste bases the client’s possible sliding scale fee off last year’s income. While some therapists will request proof of your income (by sending them a screenshot or photo of your income in your tax return), Céleste will take your word for it. They’ll note it down in your file. Based off this honor system, Céleste expects to be informed if or when a client’s income status changes.

Please note that fees are subject to change. Clients will be given a minimum of 8 week’s notice about fees. If you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to reach out.

Have any questions before booking?

Feel free to send me an email if that’s what you prefer.
